The Development of Community Interpreting Studies in China

Xinyi Gao

Abstract—Interpreting studies is a young subject in China. Chinese researchers have been making continuous progress in this field but the current studies of community interpreting develop at a relatively slow speed. Thus, the author intends to make a literature review about the development of community interpreting studies in China from monograph, essay and postgraduate dissertation relying on the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database. The current deficiencies and corresponding suggestions for community interpreting studies in China are also proposed aiming at its more comprehensive and healthier development.

Index Terms—Community interpreting, literature review, problems and suggestions.
